I was just meditating on the subject of delays in prayers and children of God going through stuffs when God's word came powerfully to me - Our High Priest is touched by the feeling of our infirmities. Whatever it is you are going through today, I want you to remember that our High Priest is touched. He feels your pains. He knows what you are going through. He really cares. You may not understand why, but you will understand why later. You will surely come out of this. It shall come to pass.   It is well....

“Faith, hope, and love are the three cornerstones of the Christian life. But the most important is love--without love, the other virtues mean nothing.” I Corinthians 13:13 paraphrased Someone wanted to know all that it takes to please God. He asked Jesus what the first commandment was “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself” (Matthew 22:37 - 39). We cannot genuinely claim to love God that we don’t see if we don’t love our fellow human beings which we see. You cannot love a man and watch him go hungry when you have enough food at home. Even if there is not enough, true love is willing to share. We cannot lay...

'But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you'. Matthew 6:33 Here, we find Jesus giving us an eternal secret. Many people seek after things instead of seeking after the THING – the kingdom of God. Many lives are out of order because of a neglect of this divine order. They have found some of the ‘other things’ but without satisfaction, the pursuit becomes endless. Life becomes meaningless. If you find the kingdom of God, you have found every other thing. Get your life back to order by following this simple rule. There is just one thing that attracts every other thing that you are looking for. Jesus says that it is the kingdom of God. Stop seeking for the additions, seek for the ATTRACTION and the additions will soon arrive. Remember, ‘for ye have need of patience that after...

The desire of God is that we get answers to our prayers. Let’s face it, prayer is not easy - without the involvement of the Holy Spirit. Talking to someone you see is much easier than speaking to the someone you cannot see. A one-ended discussion is exhausting and when we speak to one who is not seen, we easily fall prey to distractions. No wonder some people pay prayer contractors to pray for them and guess what? God does not answer that kind of prayer because he is essentially a God of relationship. Living in the natural, it is very difficult to pray. Until there is a Spirit involvement, prayer will not cease to be considered burdensome. In Rom. 8:26, the word of God tells us “...likewise the Spirit also helps our infirmities for we know not what to pray as we ought.” When the Spirit of the Lord is...

…Lord Teach Us To Pray… Luke 11:1The Lord’s disciples came to him with an earnest plea… “Lord, teach us to pray.” They didn’t ask Jesus to teach them HOW to pray. They however wanted to know the ‘why’ and how crucial it is to not just know how to pray but to actually engage in the act and art of prayer. It is more important to pray than it is to just know how to pray. We live in a world of power. Superior power will always bear rule and supremacy. When we are not yet translated from darkness into the kingdom of light, we fight from a disadvantaged position. We are engaged by forces and entities that we don’t see but they see us. Would it not be wise to partner with the all-seeing, all-powerful One in the battles of life? As Satan is described as the prince of the...

Ever thought that God has not really blessed you? Ever concluded that others are so lucky in life but definitely not you? Well, I hear this over and over again. Generally such conclusions come from those that do not count their blessings. Our blessings don’t mean so much to us until we count them! If you remember the last time you really appreciated God on something, you would remember that it was because you recounted all that you have passed through and how His faithfulness was with you. I have personally observed that I appreciate God more when I have to give a testimony about His goodness or I am praising Him in my privacy and I go one after the other, the things He has done in my life. I have seen that His interventions matter more to me in moments of reflection. Find time to think about His doings...

We are many times in a fix as to what to focus on whenever there is a storm of life around us. The storms of life are all around us and we have to go through some thick cloud sometimes in our bid to fly higher than our present level. Do we give our attention to the storm or simply focus on God? The secret of going through all of these without allowing them going through usis the word FOCUS. Beloved, the problem always looks big whenever God is not the focus. If you focus on God, you will lose sight of the bigness of the problem. Can you remember Peter? He walked on water as long as his focus was on Christ. The water did not change, Jesus did not change, but the focus of Peter changed. Whenever your focus changes, you begin to sink amidst the storms of life....

The earthquake in Haiti is beyond our imagination. Many lives have been lost and in some cases, a whole generation has been simply wiped off. With the number still rolling in, thousands have been reported dead in the wake of the cataclysmic occurrence in Haiti, according to Adventures in Mission, and the figures are still rolling in. Don’t be bothered about the accuracy of the figure but about the lives that have been lost. This is not mere statistics, it involves men. Our heart goes to them at this time and we have started praying for them. But they need much more than our prayers. They need our support. They need shelter. They need food. They need more than prayers. Do you like to support but don’t know how? Now we are already moving. It is clear that you have so many things to accomplish this year. The wisdom every great man adopts is to take a step at a time. Break down those long term goals into smaller, more manageable chunks. We are more motivated when we feel that we have activities in pieces that we can handle rather than whole lumps that we cannot handle. Have you ever noticed that you tend to go for things that are easy for you to do?That is because they look small or at least you are confident that you can do them. That is exactly what I am encouraging you to do. Do you want to serve God more than ever before? Start where you are. Do you want to read the whole bible in a year? Get a reading plan and start following it.Do you want to have a targeted...

Many people are still waiting for the year to start before they kick off. They had planned and prepared and it is now time to implement their plans. The only problem is that they feel that the year is just starting. Has anyone said in your ears lately, ‘the year is still young’? Well, that is what I am talking about. The year is already in motion, start moving. It has left the station so there is no wisdom in waiting. Early risers gain the ground. Don’t wait until mid-January to wake up. The time is now. Now is the time to start implementing all the things you have planned. Never be a seasonal person. Carry your season within you. Some people are still in the season of spending. Others are in the season of doing nothing. The year is no longer young. Just in six days, some have got a contract....

There is no magic in January 1! Every day can be the beginning of a new year. I know that many people don’t believe this or probably have never thought about it but it is true. What really makes a new year are the changes you make in your life and the new things that God does in your life. It is important that we realize this as the year will be the same for most people as it was the previous year. It is good to understand the dynamics of how God works so that your expectations can be your manifestations. If you can trust God for new things everyday and you can assess and evaluate your life from time to time, making the right adjustment and improvements where necessary, every day this New Year can be a new year for you. With the right mindset, not thinking that January...

back_to_basics
Generally in life, people tend to forget the basics. But the basics are the strength on which anything is built. Whatever we learnt later in Calculus and algebra could only be understood because we did some simple arithmetic in primary school. A skyscraper is built on a foundation laid. There is a simplified structure that gives colour to the whole. So it is in the spiritual life. As we go on in our Christian journey, we tend to make everything look so complex. Complexity in spirituality leads nowhere. To be a sound Christian, you need to have simplicity. In order words, we must not let go of the basics. Every structure we build later must agree with the principles learnt at the foundational classes. Without a strong foundation, we are not going too far in our spiritual life. It is not a matter of if the spiritual structure will collapse; it...

Jesus
Jesus Christ is many things to us. He is our Saviour and Lord, but He is also our Friend. Sometimes in life, friends are very valuable to us. We discuss with them without being afraid and they are there for us even when no one else is. We do not need to be who we are not in their presence because they already know us anyway.   Generally, friends are mates (age mates, school mates etc) but what a privilege when we have a senior friend. People that have some senior friends learn things that are beyond their age and experience. This makes them wiser that their contemporaries. Jesus is a senior friend. He knows us in and out. With all our shortcomings, He still wants to be our friend. What a great privilege that Jesus can be to us, what we can never be to Him. What a Friend we...

So many times, I read about people with humble beginnings. By the time these people are relating their stories, they are at a wonderful height in their journey to greatness. This has made me conclude that our humble beginnings are not meant to humble us. They are only there so that the success story can be sweeter later on. The difference between the top of the ladder and the bottom of it is the height to be climbed. Never move the mountain you should climb, it was positioned for your rising. Everything that has a top also has a bottom. The fact that you feel that you are at the bottom means that there is a top you are going to. With a positive change of altitude you are headed for the top. One of my friends has said that to arrive to soon is to arrive too small. Your journey...
